The mother goose leads her babes in a row across a busy highway
The traffic takes careful precautions as they get their camera shots
Beautiful young young girls try on their gowns for the prom
Picking out the eyelashes and nail polishes to match
It is graduation time and a time to celebrate with family and friends
Food and drink and cake to eat
It is summer and the grass is green and the fire flies brighten up the sky
Only special moments when we first met the first kiss the rain poured down under a huge maple tree
You held me so tight while we stood in the middle of a cemetery where you parked your car and we put flowers on your grandmas grave
It was our high school crush as we played the song on the radio laughter in the rain
Then we said our goodbyes as we both cried
You went off to the Marines and I went off to college
Later I found out you weren’t coming home but honorable mentions you received
I had found someone who looked just like you
But of course he would never fill your shoes
Many special moments are written in my diary and a picture of your face is pasted to the front page as special as the first day I met you
