Years ago I fell into a love story 
We were young, at school & many dreams ahead, 
We smiled & laughed & cried some days 
Creating a future, soul mates that were lead, 
Your laughter captured me in a grasp of wonder 
Your eyes took my heart to new places, 
I yearned for all that I saw ahead of me 
Only wanting you, never looking at new faces, 
I now know we grew apart slowly & sadly 
You were the one I desired, only you to marry, 
I never realised how good I had it with you 
I lost you & the years were hard without you to carry, 
I see your pictures & it brings back memories 
You were a dream, I had but woke from too soon, 
You were everything to me that followed my heart 
We drifted apart & I again wished upon the moon, 
Maybe we were too young but I'd still love you now
You in my life I felt so complete & now feel lost, 
You made me happy when we speak of a family 
Our destiny, our love life & destination it cost, 
All I have now are photos & faded memories 
Of a time that I wish again would come true, 
As my life travelled through a distant path
Ever since I lost our destiny, as I lost you, 
All I know is I'm proud that you were my first love 
You taught that its easy to get hurt & love can be cruel, 
I know you are happy with your new love
I'm the one left on the side, feeling like a fool, 
I wish things planned out differently with us two 
I wish I was the one whispering in your ear, love you, 
But sadly I'm the one reminiscing with thoughts
I made the mistake & eventually broke the love once true.
