At my advanced age, there should be no surprises

Assuming I've seen it all and done it all

But life always seems to come up with the unexpected

Things that keep happening to make life really interesting

It's these little surprises that keep us on our toes

Discovering all the little things that fill life with true happiness

Such an amazing feeling to experience

The absolute treasure that a loving relationship can provide

Why anyone would want to exchange this

For a life of destruction and mayhem

It is just so beyond my comprehension, I'm at a loss

Please help me to understand!

Life has so much to offer if we would only open our hearts
