The Opposite View

What is death without life ? 
 What is anything without it's opposite ? 
Perhaps its still the same but could it be created without it's opposite? 
Without opposites the world is unbalenced. 

Is love still love if hate is not hate? 
Is peace still peace if war wasn't war? 
Is up still up if down is not down? 

Does something become useless without its opposite? 
Like brains without knowledge or Veins without blood?
