Our Love of Life

How instant life is when passing us by
as we tread on not knowing likely why.
It's only faith that makes us all believe
the meaning of life when we are to leave.
 
Why do we grieve when it’s our turn to go;
leaving behind love for others to grow?
Except for this love that seems to be gone,
sitting here wondering just for how long?
 
How long before we realize our hope
is here holding hands, to help us all cope
with loss of a loved one that we hold dear.
Let’s recall his life that lives with us here.
 
Truth has it that our life's meaning can fool
and misdirect us from love’s golden rule.
That to love while we’re here, is enough said
where wisdom is grasping love’s dangling thread.
                                                                                                                               
We are quick to blame the meaning of life
when all our hardships are burdened with strife.
We are blessed knowing that he’s still alive,
and deep in our hearts, he’ll always survive.
 
The sounds nature makes each lovely day
are the sounds of life awakening to say;
“Remember the things and people you know
as love comes alive when we let it show.”
 
The birds and bees know what living is for
as the meaning of life knocks on our door.
Together, in love, we’ve gathered and met,
praising this life that we’ll never forget.
