Poem -

Our Place

Our Place

you take me to a space to clear my head off of you
this has become our world that we built together as people
undercover lovers
they call us that, don’t they
because of our dynamic but it's just a mentorship
but it becomes slightly deeper than that
it's more platonic
because when we lay together
head on head
hand in hand
in fire and silence
I've never felt so whole
and I close my eyes to reach into you more and more because I know that you feel what I feel
you repress it but I hear you crying out for me to become intertwined with you
but they tell you to diminish your soul because it will break everything apart
if we came to be together
but there's that underlying us when it is just you and I sitting there in that dark room
and sometimes I have to look the other way because we are on the verge of intimacy
we cannot seize this as of yet but I long for this more and more everytime that we are closer
there's something about this
the way in which you grab hold of my waist
the way in which you touch into the depths of my skin with your soul
you're reaching out to me and repairing me
simultaneously
who knew loving you would have been such an enlightening experience
except I am not allowed to
and not a single ear knows that I do.
