Our Visit To Jimmy’s House
One Spring afternoon in two thousand four, Nico, Cody and I were at home;
We were taking our daily refresher naps, when I heard the ring of my phone!
The voice I heard on the other end, was very familiar to me;
It was a friend of mine from decades ago, my buddy whose name was Jimmy!
He was as excited as I was too, the moment he heard me talk;
For he told me he lived only two miles away, so close we could even walk!
He asked if I’d like to come over that day, and rekindle our friendship again;
I said, “If I can bring my two doggies I’ll come, for I am inseparable from them”!
He said, “It’s okay, as long as they’re trained, for we just had new carpet laid down”;
I said, “That’s no problem, they are very good boys, they only will go on the ground”!
But what he failed to tell me that day, was that he had a dear doggie too;
So soon after we got there, Nico got the scent of his dog, and on their bedroom carpet made poo-poo!
I thought I would die, I was so mortified, but we cleaned it as fast as we could;
For his wife was coming home real soon, and if she found out, it wouldn’t be good!
Fortunately for us, she never suspected, what happened on her bedroom’s new carpeted floor;
And for years after that, whenever seeing Nico, she’d kiss him and say “You I adore”!

Oh gosh my Larry that was a great big oops! I can just imagine how embarrassed you must have felt. Did Nico look suitably sorry for being naughty?! It`s awful when dogs insist on marking their territory isn`t it! My Nero did a wee on my new carpet in our bedroom when we first moved into this house and it is a white carpet too so it was a nightmare to clean it and thank heavens I managed to get it all out before Geoff saw it as it had taken the fitter all day to fit it, the fitter thought it was hilarious!! Nero was doubly naughty that day because he knows he`s not alowed in the bedrooms. The funny thing was that Geoff said when he came to see the new carpet that the room smelled lovely, I just told him a little fib and said it was the polish I`d used on the new furniture!!! So Nero had me telling a fib to cover for him too, the little tinker! I loved reading this because we`ve both had the same experience with our naughty boys! Well done for making me laugh this morning sweetie.

Thanks for returning the favor, because we are still laughing at your Nero tale.  Would you believe that the carpet at Jimmy's house was also white.  We loved the cover up story that you conspired with Nero to create, telling Geoff that that nice sweet smell was polish you'd used on the new furniture.  I know you probably kept that secret, but Nero ever tell his Daddy what he had done? Beautiful memories like these are irreplaceable because they bring laughter to ours and others hearts.  As for Nico looking sorry, actually, I think he was quite proud of himself!
