Our Ways Divide (Inspired by Byrons poem When We Two Parted)

Our Ways Divide (Inspired by Byrons poem When We Two Parted)

The end of our road has come sudden
and  fierce.
No path to re take and no respite from
tears.
I have to forget, yours a heart I
required,
but lost to my future, the one I
desired

With friends who will speak of you in lowered
tones.
The thought of your name sends a chill through my
bones.
Too long we were bound by a love seeming
true,
but promises broken, what else could we
do?

We met in a subterfuge ripe with
Deceit,
we  now hide our sadness whenever we
meet.
Our lips can no longer seek passions
embrace,
our greetings  exchanged as in chilled
cyberspace.

Your love I held dear and hugged close to my
breast,
Some  memories recalled are still precious and
blessed ,
but time will move on and a new love
replace
your once loved and lost, but now ,fast fading
face

I'm glad this poem wasn't biographical and merely speculative, Lodigiana.
To endure the type of pain described so adeptly in this poetic proclamation portraying love and loss isn't pleasant.
In fact, I know all too well just how unpleasant it truly is.
Nicely penned...

It does make me really  sad that you have hurtful  knowledge of love and loss Dean...it truly is tough, I know, and not something that can be easily dismissed...but I am nothing if not optimistic  and someone with as deep and sensitive soul as you will , somehow, someway find a positive to the negative you have experienced. Really appreciate  you reading and commenting xx

A shining example of tribute, reinforced by ideals that transcend translucent meanderings.
Bravo.
Great take on passions stemming from heartfelt misanthropic philandering.
Neat composition.
Due respect for efforts aimed at cleaning up queries regarding emotional upset.
Take care my friend.  :)
