"Our World"

"Our World"

This amazingly created world is so shamefully full of lies, judgement, and hate.

Why do we choose not to live life, before it is too late?

Us gorgeous woman choose to wear make-up that covers the natural God given beauty of our own face.

Why must this be the case?

Wearing hardly any clothing at all just to catch an eye.

We need to have more self-respect, self-morals, or at least try.

We cheat on the ones whom we say we love.

Not even close to being thankful that they are a blessing from our heavenly father above.

We lie straight to your face without blinking a eye.

Living with no regrets, even though we know we are living a lie.

We call each other very harsh names, showing no love at all.

An do not even mind watching our loved ones sadly fall.

We see our people who need help all the time.

But yet, offering help doesn't even cross our mind.

Not until we hit rock bottom and we are caught up in a bind.

We are so quick to judge you.

And do we know you, have not a clue.

Not thinking once, what you may have gone through.

Now days it is all about money, sex, cars, and fame.

Instead of Jesus, God, family, and love, I know it is quite a shame.

We could literally have everything we want and need, and it still not be enough.

Being so ungrateful, selfish, and not realizing who really has it rough.

But those ones who usually have it the roughest, are the ones who love and appreciate.

The ones who choose to live life, before it is too late.

Great question
"Why do we choose not to live life, before it is too late?"
I've watched this so many times in my life, the regrets people i care about have, it's sad,
i love this line,
"But those ones who usually have it the roughest, are the ones who love and appreciate"

Wow Christy Bozeman!!!......don't think I've read you before............but I will.........this is truly ,spiritually, uplifting to see in words........because I can't tell you how many times I have had this EXACT conversation with a room full of beautiful souls (3 sisters, Mom, Omi...)...........it seems that ALL women (and many men, aside from the clothing thing) would TOTALLY agree with these Gracefully delivered poetic phrases..........but there seems to be this HUGE rift between understanding and doing..........and I think it's ALL driven by the mass media (bloodsucking scum-bags if you ask me)...........big billboards and television programming propelled by make-up covered, scantily clothed women........a sad state of affairs............especially in a household of MOSTLY women.............SORRY to talk your head off..........I just happen to believe that women are much MORE attractive with no make-up.........and MORE clothes (leaves more to the imagination, and hence more titillatingly attractive)............VERY profound and though-provoking write my friend............well done...........smiles.........T  xx

Thank you very much Tony Taylor. Pleasure to meet you as well. I agree that woman and men both are much mire beautiful when they dress decent and act decent. As you have said leaves more to the imagination. Thank you for reading my poem. I love poetry with a passion. I am also a singer, and sing writer. Well not famous or anything. I rather not live rich, live more just money, and be all about myself. If I were to ever follow my dreams I would want to be a lot like Rich Mullins. He asked for minimum wage only, and the rest to go to the churches and other charities. Which was f=ver awesome of him. And til the day he died he never knew exactly how much he really made. Because money corrupts people. :)

Hey Christy!!........I LOVE Rich Mullins..........the way he talks on stage between songs..........I too am a song writer by profession.............and I am Vigilant fighter for God's greater good............I too believe in minimizing the importance of monetary gain............I have actually LOST friends over this belief..........But.......God has blessed me in so many other ways...........It's truly extraordinary to give yourself over ..........completely............in faith............it changes you into what you didn't think was possible...........and when that happens..........your music becomes more than yourself..........I LOVE that I met you..........perhaps we could trade songs or something............would LOVE to hear something.......smiles...........T  xx

Thought provoking write, Christy...a poem like this is not easy to write and not come across negative and dark and preachy, but you're very talented and there exists such an optimistic 'tough love' tone throughout...no illusions or flowery clichés to insult the grown up mind...this is quality work, very sobering in its construction...I'm thankful that I had a chance to appreciate it....extremely high quality
