Outback

Outback

Sitting alone apon a rock,
Resting up from my lonely walk,
Gazing across the red expanse,
The stories told if the rocks could talk.

Sweat drips down on to the sand,
Radiant heat surging through my soul,
Animals seek refuge in the shade,
Relief found by the swimming hole.

Rocks point upward into the sky,
The red blobs breathe a sacred sigh,
We are but mortals in an ancient land,
Intoxicating pride, I'm on a high.

Take it in this wonderous sight,
No need to rush absorb the day,
You feel your soul begin to heal,
Enlightenment will guide your way.

Being Me

We are but mortals in an ancient land,

I love that line! It is so true and extremely poetic. Fab poem x
