Outward Bound

Outward Bound

The Queen of Hearts had said: 'Off with his head,'
doormouse sleeping hadn't heard a word that was said;
they were all camping, had left the usual long table,
advised to diet but Tweedledum/Tweedledee were unable.

Unable to grasp/twig the seriousness of the situation,
the Queen ordered the pair to go on a nasty ration,
they said the tortoise taught us to be more careful,
otherwise the Queen's going to give you a real earful.

Alice adjusted her band and made someone play drums,
Mad Hatter tried but as usual he was just all thumbs;
the March Hare dealt some strange hands of poker,
someone made a hasy bid and out leapt a funny joker.

He said: 'Lighten up - because things ahead may be darker,
if you don't - the Queen may be calling in the marker.'
