Overwhelm Her Psyche

Overwhelm Her Psyche

maybe I am insane
overwhelm the psyche
to distract from what’s been done to me
an elopement risk
please God just emancipate this
rights mean nothing here
once you open your mouth to speak
and they lose their civility
can we combine science with love?
so I won’t have to tell the pill pushers,
“please don’t hurt me.”
I had been referring to myself passively
they bruised and invaded
flipped my life upside down
but I never was one to sport a frown
open land and a plan
I wasn’t made for this industry
how creative could a writer be?
yellow beds of straw
a death reminder is all I’ll ever need
bones lovelier have been buried
do I really have to pay you
to make all my dreams come true?
a quarter of the rotation through
and I’ve heard a few owls hoo
someday I hope to wake up with you
sing and cook and dance too
we won’t need anything new
and I won’t have to keep writing the blues

I so hope this is the product of a poets imagination & not entirely autobiographical .......... for that would be a travesty .. Neville
