O'Wise Brown Owl

O'Wise Brown Owl

O' wise brown owl - e.webb

the owl is a fowl , of enchanting wisdom
wise to wait for the nights dark cloak
she is like no other being from the yoak

she dreams of the day , as her food feeds away
patiently from the aged coppice high within the oak of age

for it occupies the dark of nights cloak ,
she sits, and she sits,  silent within the oak

her silence ,  stealth
 untill she choose
her presences unveiled , by twit, twoos

the wise brown owl  has wisdom to listen
its wisdom comes from virtue

gods light of the day, has grown her prey
yet wise old owl knows to listen away

clumps paws ripple the air with sound
scuttling unaware upon the nightly ground ,

as quite as a mouse ,
her talons so sharp, elegant as a harp, she jumps  from her hide
into silent glide
sinking her deathly talons

the mouse no long,
she swallows in one
no trace left, the mouse is gone

come the dawn she flys away
back to hiding , from the day

for alone she is, yet can name every star
no other birds wisdom can stretch this far

O' wise brown owl this  I say,
a star is for night,
you have no place in the day
