Owning Cortina

I'd heard once of a cheerful girl, whose future seemed so bright.

Until her drink was tainted with corruption and with spite.

And that was how the gorgeous girl, found herself contained.

Her only purpose to drive men, Cortina was her name.

.
When I met this young thing she boasted deer shot eyes.

She'd had at least ten keepers from an owner she despised.

They couldn't revΒ her engine, and soΒ they broke her down,

cutting tracks with virgin knees into the sodden ground.

.

They tried to drive Cortina for their twisted sense of bliss.

Her traction remained strong against the edge of the abyss.

Dressed up in red rubies with a face covered in paint,

they rented her for fifty bucks then ran her till she'd faint.

.

When I stoleΒ Cortina she wore an amber coat.

The only sign of rubies were the signs of constant choke.

Scratches on her body, wearing rust corroded rings.

Her eyes that once had shone for miles no longer saw a thing.

.

So I stole dear sweetΒ Cortina, with a kiss that made her glow,

released the jammed up handbrake, let her taste the open road.

Sweeping up the fallen tears we drove into a glade.

I cast away the rubies, then changed her name to Jade.
