Oxford Rain

Mordrid in Mississippi

Oxford Rain

I guess this is where I leave you
All sad and suffering and full of sorrow
Where all the music is made for you
And you pretend there is no tomorrow

A twisted smile and words unspoken
Frail and fragile and safely kept
Both mind and heart all bent and broken
And your secrets so softly wept

I saw the sun glitter through your hair
Like glowing embers and sparking fire light
You danced with me in the daylight there
But you ran back into the shadows of night

Wicked Counsel and Deadly Sage
So much power I should fear
But your magic rewound my age
And I could not think with you so near

You insisted on pushing me far away
Believing you don't deserve to see the light
The depth of you wished for me to stay
But your desire was bested by fright
