Paddling in the seađź’•

Paddling in the seađź’•

On the inside looking outside,  I am in a picture on a wall

Where I never see the light of day, stuck in that frame along a hall

I am that little girl that you are look at, paddling in the salty sea

And I watch you as you stare at me with such curiosity

I can tell I bring you happiness. you are smiling with such joy

As you point me out with your middle finger, standing with your little boy

And I listen to him asking questions, “Mammy do you know this little girl?”

His tiny face is staring back at me, with his hazy head all in a whirl

I guess that I must look very cute, this tiny child beside the seashore

Coz everyone that comes to look at me, stands for ages on that marble floor

With that look of love and such affection, staring into my picture frame

And I hear them chattering amongst themselves, asking if I have a name?

But alas, I was painted by a lady, who was full of fascination

So she made me up inside her head, only from her wildest imagination…
