Exquisite pain

words in vain
All left behind

A man in shadows
Muted and excluded
A man in shadows

a man who wallows in pity
Always follows
And rebounds in elasticity

Hoping for recognition
At your back is his designation
never heard and never seen
A man without feeling
Is a man without believing

this pain so excruciating
Unbearably a burden
So heavy
So unmoving
Without thought
His mind is moving

To the darkest reaches of his soul
Cognition so sharp and narrow
His scarred heart 
Took a toll

Ever in the shadows
A man dieing
Thought he could count his friends in rows
None beside him while he is ailing.

So that just just shows
Friends don't come in boxes with red bows
True friends come with time and from the heart
Or your view on life will be very tart.
