Pain

Feeling depressed is an ill
It isn't some kind of thing like free will
I'm not pretending 
Most of the time I don't even know what I'm defending

I put on a smile
It's only going to last for a short while
My laughter is hollow
My words won't come out their shallow
I am an open book
People just skim and overlook

I gave you my trust
You used me for your own personal gain
Now I'm left with is pain

I can't feel emotions
People can tell based on my actions
My life is already set for motion

People tell me I'm the glue
That I keep everyone together
That I'm the missing puzzle
That I'm the fulfilling piece

All I am is trapped 
I might as well be strapped 
For me there is not escape
