Parasitic Pestilence

Parasitic Pestilence

Parasitic pestilence preys on human ignorance.
Leeching lives, no consequence,ย freeย from allย benevolence.
Lurking lithe โ€˜neath castle keep, seeking souls whose blood doth seep.
Thoโ€™ her hunger runs so deepโ€ฆ
Vampyre rests in silent sleep.

ย
Thus, night falls with whimpered veil, spinning yarns, anย old man's tale
for the young, to no avail; hear the panicked children wail?
Lovely Lunaโ€™s silvโ€™ry strobe drapes the pious xenophobe.
Donned he then his blackened robe ~
Curses nightโ€™s celestial globe.

ย
Crucifix laced โ€˜round his neck, lacking faithโ€“without a speck.
Deep down winding stairwell, treks, to the castle's lower decks.
Flings the coffin open wide; curiously peeks inside
reveals nothing there abides.
Vampyre watches where she hides...

ย
Ancient incantations rote, unbeknownst, this slaughtered goat,
chants his senseless ritual, which, by nowโ€™s habitual.
Quietly, the Vampyre stirs steeling every sinew, nerve
for the fatty, tasty feast,
gorges, she, on human beast.

ย
Lurking lithe โ€˜neath castle keep, ancient one drinks long and deep.
Closes, then, her weary eyes โ€“โ€œNo!โ€ a sorrowed widow criesโ€ฆ
Deep within the sepulcher dead eyes open, children stir;
osseous, each withered child,
hath the dirge of death defiled.
