Party

Party

Time for the party
I head down the stairs
I'm the only one ready
Choose one of the chairs
I think of being lonely
I think of being wronged
I wish i was pretty
I wished i belonged
But no one is here yet
The clock says it's noon
The party has started
Not a minute too soon
I pour out some tea
And sip from my tears
I sample a cake
Of caked up fears
I'm here all alone
And i feel misued
The world set against me
My dreams all refused
I open a package
Of anger and hate
Still no one enters
But they are not late
No one is here
Because they shouldn't be
I've known all along
That it was just me
For that's what you find
When you feel sad
And you have the mind
To throw a pity party of one

I absolutely love this!  What a beautifully penned picture of lonliness and rejection. Just want you to know, here on cosmo you are accepted and respected!
