Heart

Heart

Fragile little thing
So easy to break
Careful youngling
Don't let it fall

Take great care
Dear little one
No one will spare
It from the crowd

When you grow
Then with caution
May you show
To whom you trust

Of strangers beware
And keep it close
Don't freely share
Lest it be stolen

Don't be naive
Wait till you're wise
It's loss will leave
A gaping hole

Oh child fair
It will be fine
Do not despair
You're not alone

My dear little son
The time will arrive
You'll find the perfect one
To give your heart
