Poem -

Passing

The pale rider came for me
To take me to the riverman
He asked me if I had the fare
I told him that this was not fair
The pale rider came at night
There were no coins then in my sight
Oh, can't you please just let me slide
And take me to the other side
The riverman said "No free rides."
And so unto my Lord I cried
"I beg you God, this is not fair."
"He came at night to take me here
And dying oh so unprepared
I find myself without the fare. "
A peace surrounded me and spoke
"I see your spirit isn't broke.
I have  paid the toll already.
I will make your journey steady.
You are all my sons and daughters.
And through me you walk on water.
You don't need to go on that ride.
Walk with me instead with pride. "
I remember this to be true
And so I stand and walk with You
