Passing Period

Passing Period

It was a simple task

Walking from one class to another

An everyday experience we all go through

Not for me

Each step is a challenge mild panic floods through my body

The darkness of reality slowly slipping away

I reach out

Grab at it but still it runs

Trying not to let imagination win over reality

I fail

Now nothing exists and I am alone in this dark hallway

As if I weren’t being shoved around

Interestingly mental

It’s like I’m wandering through a darkness that has swallowed me whole

Still no clarity I fight through it all with vain

Then I open my eyes and the darkness is gone I’m at my next class

It was all a horrible dream that had wrapped it’s arms around me keeping me close

It forced me into a zombie like walk

Roaming through the halls somehow knowing the destination

The whole world was gone
