A Past Life

A Past Life

In the back waters of life

where all hope is lost

half sunk in the lagoon

lies a scuppered hulk

left there to disintegrate

fade away from existence

rotten wood, slowly dying

broken by time itself

as waters swell all around

for emotions have dwindled

as this shell sinks further

into the twilight years

a hard life can take it`s toll

weaken the spirit greatly

leaving just a shadow

a haunting ghost of a life

resting quietly in this place

a reminder of a great past

Painfully beautiful,
"a hard life can take it`s toll

weaken the spirit greatly

leaving just a shadow

a haunting ghost of a life

resting quietly in this place

a reminder of a great past"
