Paying the toll.

There are several tolls to pay before grim reaper takes his. 
Or perhaps it's his toll all along, no penny's for the eyes any more. 
Ferry man takes his toll in your living years instead. 
That's why there's headaches, heartbreaking obstacles, challenges that shorten your breath. 
That's how you really can prepare for your ultimate goodbye. 
Leaving is your stubborn frame of mind. 
Leaning towards the unknowns. 
I keep my words from doing me in, admit nothing and sneak away quickly and quietly into the obis. 
Toll I think I have paid it.
