PENNY FOR YOUR THOUGHTS

A penny spent, the sinner covets, grudges come a dime a dozen; A Baker's Dozen, unlucky 13! Time is priceless and talk is cheap. Counting sheep to induce sleep, jumping fences: count, repeat. One, two, three; Ready, Set, Go! Behold, the nursery rhymes of our soul! We bargain thoughts, we cast our lots, morbid exchanges which we are taught; we've fought for gain, for dollar bills, sealing deals of motives ill. We feel enriched, yet we are broke, Dope is sold, wallets unfold. So the story goes: that pot of gold! Where the leprechaun waits at the end of the rainbow. A prism of color! A Promise from God! Yet we somehow look past it, it seems we forgot. Alphabetical order, Obsessive Compulsive; Numbers! Equations! Confusing! Repulsive! A tisket, a tasket, what case? A BASKET! Neurotic, misplaced! A SEVERE basket case! Load the basket for a picnic with Yogi the Bear! Matter of fact, here's a quarter: Call someone who cares. A pocket full of change, yet we have no sense? We repent then forget, then we do it again! But do we truly forget? Or do we pretend? With enemies and friends we choose to contend. We feel our purpose is worthless, we fail to see Satan's craftiness; For richer or poorer: money does NOT buy happiness! Til Death Do Us Part, let it shimmer til the end! What glitters isn't gold, or so it's told, my dear friend. Stop the chaos! Stop the madness! It's a terminal disease! Stop the hunger! Stop the sadness! Make it all cease! Release the strongholds Satan's claimed over our World's soul! Reap what we've sown, let the refreshing fruits grow! Gather our harvest, which in turn we will sell...Drop another penny into Life's Wishing Well...
