Pentagrams and Fifty Mission Cap (Tribute to ‘the tragically hip’)

I went out with this ‘chick’ who I wanted to shag
She loved smoking weed and offered me a drag
I took it in hand and inhaled without any hesitation
Then I asked her as a joke how she felt about Satan
She smiled sweetly and nodded, ‘he’s my inspiration.’
Then we fell in love and the world seemed our oyster
We lived by the lake and drew pentagrams together
At night we sang calypso songs for the good harvest
And chanted incantations in the smoky morning mist
Worshipping the devil and writing New Age rap music
Became our obsession our life and our ritualistic habit
Until we heard OUR song on the radio for the first time
We looked at each other and listened to every line
‘The tragically hip’ sang as we woke from our daily nap
Told the story of Bill Burilko in the song ‘Fifty Mission Cap’
...the last goal he ever scored won the Leafs the cup
They never won another...until he was discovered...
