perceived chapters

What a wonderful and humbling
learning process life itself extends
growing older, bolder, colder
yet far from being a god's soldier

new chapters open
perhaps a little more slowly
than when hands of youth
turned the pages

and now learning that pride
is a very expensive commodity
i surrender to the warmth
of humanity all around

maybe in these days left
i will find the treasures of
relaxation and acceptance
worshiping quietly all they encompass

do we ever cast off the taint
of our parents bias and cruelty
passed onto us in all innocence
for they know not what they do
beyond the pulse of procreation
