Poem -

Persistence, For Jody Dreher

She loved cooking and kids and family

I loved sports and being a rascal and eating

And the biggest role model

for the majority of my life

was her son David.

And I don’t know what happens to you when you die—

I don’t know what happens to you when you die—

but if you aren’t able to see

for yourself, that kid’s still amazing

and Danielle has turned into a beautiful young lady

just like her mother. just like her mother.

and if there’s a god

I don’t know why

he was so persistent about this one

but at our next Passover Sedar,

we’ll leave a cup out for Elijah,

and we’ll leave one out for you
