Photograph

A picture tells a tale
Compressing expressions into a memory of a flash
Into a dark room,
Out of negatives
Gruesome exposure to light
To a honorary wall,
claiming unity
From generation to generation
Warmth of a family,
displayed for eyes to gaze upon.
placing flesh on skeletons
This photograph exponentiates a steady, solid foundation
Covering countless days of weeping
This photograph confirms what eyes see
While it leaves hidden what lies beneath.
