Pick your battles
Staring down at me with cloudy eyes
I can see that you are shaking
Your fingers sweaty on the trigger
And inside your earth is quaking
You despise me for who I am
And what I'm fighting for
But are we all that different
I'm really not so sure
For we both left families behind
When we came here to fighy
Tears have been shed by the pair of us
In our bunks at night
And do we know what we are fighting for
Or simply doing what we are told
Who's ideology is right
And who's should be anulled
From a young age we are bred to share
The views and beliefs of our peers
Was it instilled in you to go through life
Hating muslims niggers or queers
Or do you hate the white man
Who enslaved your family of old
And will you live your whole life
Without questioning what you're told
So by all means stand by your beliefs
And if need be for them fighy
But before you do I'm asking you
To make sure you're doing right
Fight for peace fight for love
Fight to end slavery and toil
But stop fighting over a patch of earth
Religious beliefs and oil

Hello Dave...
It's a shame that the Whites weren't slaves back then...
Maybe, things would really be so much better now?
Instead we're all slaves and that's not working, either...
Great write!
Thank you for sharing...
Hugs...
