Poem -

1st world problems

I remember a time of happiness
But that time went by so fast
Now as I sit and weep
I can't help but keep
reminiscing about the past.

A time when life was simple
No hatred, bills or stress
To re live that childhood for just one day
And leave behind this mess.

Would be a breath of fresh air
Nobody relying on me
To bury my feelings below false ceilings
And pretend my soul is free.

I love my children dearly
And if I speak the truth
They're the only things that keep me
Slipping back into my youth

So I'll stand up tall against this wall
In the sights of the firing squad
I've lost all fight but it's alright
Onwards we shall plod
