The Pinhead

A friend setĀ a poetic challenge,
To write a poem about a pinhead.
Not about a stupid foolish person,
Or Hellraiser ghoul who is undead.
I need a different approach,
And stretch my imagination wide.
To make it interesting and fun,
Keeping any reader's on my side.
But where does one simply begin,
With a pinhead so tiny and small.
Then I have a moment of clarity,
Size is the answer to it all.
Something smaller than a pinhead,
Many idea's I hurriedly down jot.
But the real big key to it all,
Is that most miniscule microdot.
So easily small enough to fit,
On a pinhead with room to spare.
One desired by two warring sides,
Its stark secrets both are aware.
Big secrets that can win a war,
To be quickly retrieved at any cost.
And the side of darkness and evil,
Care not how many lives are lost.
Oh I could have written much more,
High adventures, chases and thrills.
Nazi agents hot on a hero's heels,
With femme fatales and endless spills.
In a way I have really cheated,
More a poem about a tiny microdot.
But I hope you enjoyed reading it,
And for that, I say thanks a lot.
Perhaps I'll write about a pinhead,
One of the stupid foolish variety.
For we don't have far to find one,
Living among us in today's society.
