Places

Keep music live

Places

Special places.
Cleansing places.
Places that can take away
all traces
Of the the dreary humdrum world.
Places full of faces.
Full of those stories that need no pages.
The people that you know.
Where artists find their graces.
Where they sometimes show their work.
But, most of all,
Those places
where cool cats play double basses.
The places where music flies.

We have to defend these sacred places.

WE MUST KEEP MUSIC LIVE

This is Friggin' Great my friend...... for its clever delivery...... for its shining simplicity...... and most importantly....... For its POWERFUL message!!......I have played music all over this country..... and I can't tell you how many times I have uttered the words ~

ALL this time!!??  There's just no place like it...."

                          ~ "Places full of faces.
Full of stories that need no pages."

Tony my friend I've just got back from a punk gig at the pub in picture. Very pissed (which in the UK means druk, not annoyed). Really buzzing 'cos that's what live music does.
Oh mate, we have to protect what's left.

Hi Tony, last Saturday I saw a band called Tankus The Henge at the local arts centre which is an old church. The acoustics are fantastic (as was the band, indescribable but on YouTube) and there's two bars. So if they turn all of the beautiful music pubs into dormitory flats for London based twats we shall just go to church.

Cherie my friend we are losing our special places so fast in the UK it scares me. While they still exist though I will keep suffering from these bloody hangovers.

Hi Nigel, I couldn't agree more about the need to keep live music venues open. It's a culture that's dying. As I'm getting older I'm finding myself listening to punk more and more. I thought it's supposed to be the other way around? It seems that it's the only music that is pure nowadays.

Syd mate punk was always pure. Not always good but always pure. I am lucky to live in a town that is full of musicians so there will always be somewhere playing music. The pub's though they seem to be closing faster than I can count. Music will always find a way.
Cheers mate

Thanks DD, quite simply life without music is only just about existing.
I do love my music.
