Please Don’t Be Gone

Please Don’t Be Gone

Oh my angel, please don’t be gone, please be right here next to me;

Just like it was for many years, and how happy would we be!

Please let me wake along your side, and rouse you with a kiss;

And make you food that you hunger for, and sate your tummied bliss!

Let me play with you and throw your ball, you retrieve and bring right back;

And lay down on the tiled floor, readied for your “puppy attack”!

Let me walk with you along our paths, and watch your “golden gait”;

And meet the friends you so adore, wagging tail at rapid rate!

Let me take you for our fun bye, byes, and you’ll sit right by my side;

Sometimes your paws will find my leg, it’s how you like to ride!

Let me take you to your groomer girl, the one you like so much;

Who makes you look so beautiful, you love her tender touch!

That’s why my angel I want you back, these things I still need do;

The joys that we will share each day, the joys of me and you!

We were meant to always be, together evermore;

So please my angel don’t be gone, come back through our front door!
