Please Just Let Me Be

This is just my plea;
I just want you to let me be;
I want to be a woman and not 'my own man.'
Please I just want to raise my family;
an no longer be a burden to rely on,
certainly not an incertainy,
but I need you to understand I am a woman and not a man.
The man I was married to was not a bad man;
the children and me, the children and me,
we want to be our own family,
not just your security,
please just let me be.
You may not care for the man that I divorced,
nor do I care not for him anymore,
but my children I do love the most.
But I am a woman and not a man;
And yes I will have other needs of an adult, not of a child.
Please just understand that this is my plea, Judge,
my children and I want to be a family.
Certainly not an incertainy,
You are no longer my security.
Please just let us be a family,
let us move on if you can,
we love you more than we can say;
because we are no longer your security, not anymore.
This is just a plea;
to let us be a family.

Thank you Chris. Most of the poems I have written are here just a dozen more to get on. I think I have found a decent publisher for these poems getting them all in order now for haggling later about the contract.
great poem
