Poet on the run

I am a poet on the run
I want to have fun in the sun
I fell asleep by the sea
Only to be woken up
By the lady drinking tea
She said my name is Lucy
Said can you see my diamonds
As she holds them up to the sky
I got up and I amĀ
A poet on the run

Poet on the run
As I sit here at
This train station
And the rain is coming down
And the people are coming and going
And he said to herĀ
I hope he’s having fun
I am a poet on the run

I am a poet on the run
Looking for fun in the sun
I am a poet on the run
Hoping it’s never done
Poet on the runĀ
Poet on the run
Poet on the run.
