Poetry Not Pills

Dont underestimate a person's feelings
We all have different level ceilings
Which when we hit
It knocks us for four
And sends us crashing through the floor
Race religion colour creed
We all have a burning need
A need to feel happiness
Need to feel love
A need of a helping hand from above
Cos life can be hard cruel and shitty
Whether you live in the country
Or in a big city
Whether the view out your window is fields of wheat
Or a grey concrete jungle with gangs on the street
Whether you work in the city in a thousand pound suit
Or on a stall in a market knocking out fruit
Whether you spend your days hanging out with your mates
Cos no one will employ you if you're from your estate
It's not always about money
Not always pride
Not always about how hard you have tried
Cos we all have opinions
On some of which we won't budge
We are so quick to criticise
So quick to judge
Other individuals across the spectrum
But do we know what really affects them
What fucks with their heads
Or how how hard they strive
To get through each day and simply survive.
Don't underestimate what people have on their plate
Cos depression doesn't discriminate
It doesn't care about money
Care about fame
It treats everyone as if they are the same
The only difference is how we deal
With the shit and anxiety that we feel
Some choose drugs or alcohol
To keep their demons under control
Whilst others visit the local quack
And gobble anti depressents by the pack
Some use retail therapy
To cheer themselves up temporarily
Some try to run but they can't hide
So end up committing suicide
Well now it comes to little old me
What keeps me from hanging from a tree
I find peace and tranquility
Turning my thoughts into poetry
