Poets Are Like Matadors

Poets Are Like Matadors

Poets are like matadors in a world
Of dull, yet brutal, bulls. Their refined skills
Can serve them well. Their bright, rhythmical words
Are created to dazzle. Along with will
And vision, they prepare themselves to shape
The scheme of things. So long as they do not
Become too cocky, around bulls and apes,
They won't get gored. If content with their lot
In life, they'll invariably succeed,
In spreading the wondrous light of their dreams.
