Poppies

Poppies

Misty meadows vastly reign
Vivid blush blest stain
Reverent times past
Resounded battles cast

Heads hung low, tis grave
Remembrance of lives gave
Abloom on war-torn fields
Long ago sacrifice yields

Brave t'was soldier's plight
Noble harrowing fight
For whom bell tolls
Poppies honor lost souls

Beauteous sea of red
Glorified on wounds bled
Ruby span gently sway
β€˜Neath skies somber gray
