Please don't tell me that you're down

 I'm too far away to give you a hug

.... look you in the eyes and smile

...tell you that you're beautiful

Hold you for a while

help you carry the weight you're carrying

Please don't tell me that you're lonely

and all your dreams have faded to the sea

And cliche's and broken promises

are all that keep you company

cause you're my inspiration; you matter to me

and you give me a reason

to make up in the morning

And maybe I can lend a hand

maybe I can help start over again

But for now I'll  send you a postcard

And it may not be much;

I don't have much to give

But I just want you to know

that I'm thinking about you
