A blowing keg awakens me in a panic
An alcoholics' nightmare for a disease-filled manic
Losing control of all sober senses
Yearning for a bottle to grip
A devastating downfall
The most treacherous slip
The bottomless pit of rock, deeper than the glass
Closing my eyes to pray, begging the desire to pass
Serenity, psalms, scriptures and reading
All motivations halting the disease from feeding
Once you can realize, the need is a want
The dream turns to a powder keg, and silences the hunt
A powerful blast from an internal shot
Recovery and sobriety are gifts
They can never be bought
