Prayers to Oklahoma

The sound of screams and howls of the wind

the memories are one of how happy the little children had just been

their teachers lay on top to save their lives

even if it meant losing their own and cannot be revived

a strange sense of calm washes over the school children

they heard God's voice so they drowned out the wind and listened

He sang them hymns and happy scriptures

to paint in their minds happy pictures

soon the winds died down and went away

and everyone looked around at the destruction in dismay

but the little children that heard God's voice

learned that your attitude in a disaster is a choice

lean on Him and He will help you make it through

for you are His children and He loves you
