Praying against yesterday

lovers remember as we forget

You loved those Japanese silk paintings
and Sunday silence for bed covers
running tiny flickering fingers
across those open psalms
distance washed into
another borrowed night
drifting and broken horizons
became my sight

Single room and heavens knot
while racing rain
kept the room in privacy
heavens knot
all twisted limb
shadowy freckles across
silk paintings

Cold staring dreaded
these shattered torn ligament dreams
medicated suburban schemes

Ghostly spectre guitars
vibrating threads
destroyed yesterdays vows

You loved
Japanese silk paintings
and heavens twisted knot
