Pre 911

Pre 911

We served
pre 911
No early
Pre boarding
When we flew
stale cookies
And weak
Lemonade
Was all
The USO
Could manage
To feed
Us
While we waited
For our Journey
To begin

When we got
Out
Our GI
Benefits
We're virtually
Nothing

And

Don't even
Think
About
VA
compensation
Unless
You were
Missing a limb
cuz
Back in our
Day
It just did
Not happen

So now when
I see benefits
being advertised
For veterans
With the
Eligibility
Being
That your
Post 911

I just have to
Think
And ponder

You forgot
About
Us before 911
And
Your forgetting
About
Us
Now......

The fish of the sea

Tragic... I cant get my head around that... you served for your country for its protection and never got anything in return. Truly disappointing... great awareness write. Kind regards. The Fish of the Sea
