Hi Rob, I pinned this because I feel exactly the same way! I found this site back in 2016 at a time in my life when it was all going so very wrong. It was a huge, huge help. I left in 2019 for personal reasons but then I missed it so I rejoined again in 2020. I love reading and seeing peoples posts here on Cosmo. So, yeah, I really agree with what you are saying. I find that writing focuses the mind ... and mine really needs focusing lol!
I feel the same exact way, my mind is a dangerous place without an healthy outlet. Same anniversary and same experience with poetry, Im seeing some parallels here :) . Thanks for the lovely comment and for sharing, it’s nice to know you’re not the only one.
I can't but agree with the above. From 1978 till 2019 hardly anybody had seen my poetry. 2017 was a hard year (finding out about being a Womb Twin Survivor and having a lifelong stomach problem operated and solved). In 2019 I published a volume of poetry that did not do much (partly because of the way the publisher works, but mostly because it my work is quite hermatic most of the times) and seekung an outlet I found Cosmo (I had been on a Dutch site for a few months, but the Dutch are not so ready to comment. Cosmo is my world, now🗺️💐🌃🌄. You lot keep me at it, that which I need to survive and keep the records of understanding and sanity. Up Cosmo, therefore
John, you have lived an inspiring life, I greatly appreciate our friendship on here and hearing of your struggles and victories, it gives a guy like me REAL HOPE! ❤️thanks brother.
That is why I publish my stuff, to show there is always a way out once you stare beastie un the eye, which I wiuld never have done if I were not egged on by my wife. Without her wisdom I would still write black stuff, not helping the world move on🗺️📝🌍
Oh yeah, I aint going nowhere nor does she (36 years of increasing happiness). Hope it works out the same for you and your Irish Rose (I remember an Irish surname in the wedding announcement)
