Perseverance

I have tried!
I am trying,
"Dont give up on yourself"
The words kept repeating in my head like a broken record.
As I fight in a war that can never have victory - I continue to shed blood.

I thought I had won,
I thought I had complete victory over my mind.
I thought I had finally learned to love myself
But, as I lay there -
In that slumber under the dark sky.
Nakedness overcomes me
And the war begins again
As more blood is shed

"You are your mothers beloved"
The words that rings at the back of my mind.
"Just like your love for her,
Continue to love yourself.
Do not appreciate the world - but let the world appreciate you!".
As the slumber comes to an end,
I am welcomed by victory!.
