Pride

Pride

Why can't I be black and proud.
You got white privilege and we can see that without it being said out loud.
But y'all try to keep us silent and claim we're violent.
Well how I'm suppose to feel when you built condos near the hood, man I know it's real.
This our neighborhood go back where you belong.
My mama raised me to be strong but more times than not it's easier said than done.
Sometimes I want to run but where to?
No matter where I go it'll be there too.
I'm fearful that I might die when I'm near my peak.
Please don't shoot officer my hands held high.
I got family and a job I'm just trying to survive.
You give out life sentences and kill law abiding citizens.
So tell me how I'm suppose to win again?
I love who I am can't make me hate the color of my skin.
