Prize Winning Simpleton

Not that I'm greedy or money obsessed,
But I've heard that a successful poem can unlock the mystical treasure chest,
A few rhyming couplets or even a bit of prose,
What kind of talent could this competition expose?

Either way, my intentions are the same as a crook,
Just give me the loot and I'll release a poetry book,

Not that criminals typically create beautiful sonnets,
But there's a first for everything so let's get on it!

Actually, scratch that because I have the sourcery of a wizard,
So if my poem isn't ranked best I'll ensure there is a horrific blizzard,

It's all lies really, I'm just after the money,
Lets make a poet out of me because it will be funny!
