Professional Jealousy

Professional Jealousy

I have no jealousy, it's pointless it seems to me,
thought I wasn't that good, someone said: better than most;
when I got up there, I decided to ask a ghost,
they, not he or she, said not bad at a quirky post.

I tried a column in 'The Heavenly Times,' rhymes,
there was a ladder, bordered, where no assylum climbs;
however, in a corner, someone called Linneker was being whipped,
and told that in future, it was best if he remained tight-lipped.

They called me to the office, told me to be more gracious,
that's not just me but should apply to all of us;
anyway, some go ott (over the top) for our american friends,
but between 'you lot,' it's really where love transcends.

I'll give you my last dollar, perhaps Cosmo will keep it down,
if you want to have a laugh, then just call in this clown.
